Have something on your mind? Need to just "sit a spell" and chat? There's nothing like a "heart to heart" to make sense of life's complexities. We can laugh a little, cry when needed, think awhile about things, or simply refrain from thinking at all as we stop and smell the "magnolias!" Yes, that's this southern girl's favorite flower! So please share your thoughts and questions about life big or small!

Last night I had one of those nights when I needed both to hear and be heard. In my "quiet time" I recorded this video below. I have no idea what it is about the timing on when I feel the "urge" to do a video to share, but it's usually very late at night and when I am in about the most casual mode possible. The southern belle in me doesn't like to record myself when I'm not "dressed to the nines," but the author and speaker in me knows that when inspiration and motivation strike we can't stand on superficial etiquette of creating the perfect "screen" moment. So here goes... ponytail, Bama cap, t-shirt and all! Enjoy this quiet moment of motivation and let me know your thoughts!
Are you a go getter? Driven? Do you feel guilty if you leave an unwashed dish in the sink overnight? Or if you call in "sick" in the morning because your sickness is nothing more than fatigue from burning the candle at both ends? Do you spend your waking hours making sure everyone and everything is taken care of only to be angry at the very caregiving that you are compelled to give? Are you jealous of co-workers or your employees who can walk out the door at 5:00 p.m. sharp regardless of how much work is still piled high on their desks or waiting in the "To Do" folder for tomorrow? Are you constantly checking your phone even during "quiet" time with those you love? If you answered "yes" to any of the above, then it might be time for a "time out!" Oh not one to punish yourself for the negative feelings or the guilt you are feeling, but rather to recharge yourself so that you won't have these feelings! Attitude makes up about 90% of our success and if we push to the limit or forget why we are doing something in the first place, if we lose the passion in what we are doing then we are simply going through the motions. We get to a point to where we aren't living, but rather existing. We forget that it is just as important to "stop and smell the roses" as it is to "wake up and smell the coffee!" I learned the hard way that we can only push so hard for so long. Flat on my back from health issues for a long while, I finally realized that it is "the being that energizes the doing." We have to take "me" time without guilt or hesitancy if we are to truly be all that we need to be and should be for ourselves and others. Actually, I think if we find just a little time for ourselves each day we won't get to that frazzled depletion point of exhaustion and frustration. So what do you think? Ready to be put in time out? What are your ways of recharging and refreshing? What habits can you set and which ones should you change?
